As a bearing segment of our production range, trailer chassis components do profit from more than 80 years of KNOTT know-how. Due to that, customers worldwide can rely on their quality and safety.
Trailer technology includes mainly axles with load capacity of up to 3,5 tons (trailer categories O1 & O2), in braked or unbraked versions, with five different suspension options. Next, there are mechanical or hydraulic overrun brakes for up to 3,5-ton capacity, either directly integrated into the drawbar of the trailer or mounted onto various drawbar types. Likewise, we offer drawbars themselves for braked or unbraked trailers – straight, bent or V-shaped. We deliver these components often as a part of a complete assembled chassis with factory pre-set brake system and upon request, in some cases with the base body frame as well.
KNOTT products from the trailer technology range are used extensively in the production of platform trailers, trailers for the transportation of vehicles, boats, livestock and horses, as well as caravans, box-type trailers and various special trailers like mobile generators, air compressors, concrete pumps and other mobile construction machinery.
Tailored solutions
Our goal is to provide support and guidance to the customer as early as in the initial phase of a new trailer development and at the same time to meet his or her non-standard requirements. Today, many of the special chassis designs are in our product range especially thanks to such non-standard requests. There are for instance axles and brakes for agricultural trailers, compact running gears for motorcycle trailers, chassis for up to 6,5-ton loading capacity with pneumatic or hydraulic brakes or special steerable running gears for low-speed applications with a capacity of up to 10 tons – with or without suspension, braked or unbraked.
